Maintenance of the chia crop It is very important to make a good weed control, as well as sow and harvest at the right time, the crop rotation and the soil fertilization. To be successful in the establishment of the cultivation of chia, a good time for planting is between the moths of April and May. Bloom time is related to low temperatures of winter to be able to bloom, fertilize and germinate the fruit. Chia harvest In addition to all its nutritional virtues, chia also gives us very ornamental beautiful mauve flowers. The harvest starts when the petals fall, about four months later of the sowing (120 to 130 days), according to its maturity state. If the chia is left for a longer time, the ripe seeds fall to the ground. Seeds develop in clusters, which usually continue to flourish. 20% of the bunch is still green. Then, the rest can be harvested and has a yellowish color.
