Quinoa burger for father's day

11 Jun Pamper your dad this Father’s Day with a healthy and delicious quinoa burger!

We have been celebrating Father’s Day for many years in the U.S. the third Sunday of June and it will never be enough to show our father how grateful we are of the role they represent in our lives. And if they take care of us the 365 days of the year, why don’t we take care of them? Especially on their day!

This time the protagonist of the recipe is quinoa, a food of Andean origin, planted with the best quality in Bolivia, with great nutritional value for our diet based on products of plant origin, because it contains a high amount of essential nutrients totally balanced, and even omega-6 and omega-3 acids. This cauliflower and quinoa recipe is very easy to prepare and the result is spectacular! Your dad will love it.

Note: If your dad doesn’t like burger, we also have a roasted beef tenderloin with quinoa and vegetables recipe. Check it out!

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium cauliflower
  • tablespoon oil
  • 180 grams Gold Foods USA Quinoa
  • 1 ½ cups of water
  • 150 grams grated cheese
  • 150 grams breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper (to taste
  • Three Eggs
  • Your dad’s favorites topping

Method:

Take a small pot of water and bring it to boil. Chop the cauliflower and cook it until it gets soft. It usually takes around 5 minutes. Take the cauliflower out and drain it.

Then, cook the quinoa. To properly prepare quinoa, first thing we have to do is to wash it as if it were rice for sushi. With the quinoa clean up, cook it with the same quantity of water. For example, if you use one glass of quinoa, put one glass of water. Let it cook until the water is consumed.

With the water consumed, we will leave the quinoa a few more minutes, making it dries a little, to mix it later with the rest of the ingredients.

Add the grated cheese, the bread crumbs, garlic powder, salt, pepper and eggs. Mix it all until having a paste. Take the cauliflower and crush it to incorporate it into the container with the quinoa mix. With a metal ring and paper film at the base, make your burger as thick as you like.

Toast some bread in the oven. You can make your own bread following our gluten-free quinoa and chia seed bread recipe!

Then, take a pan, put some oil and cook the burger. To accompany your burger, you can prepare guacamole, mayonnaise, place some cheese on the top, or your dad’s favorite topping.

Et voila!

Enjoy your homemade quinoa burger on Father’s Day!

Lastly: don’t forget to tell him you love him! Parenting is a difficult job.
